Lyle Greenfield Founder | Partner
Since founding BANG 25 years ago, Lyle Greenfield has been regarded as one of the most innovative music executives in the industry. A dedicated partner in the creative process, he’s overseen songwriting, scoring and sound production on hundreds of commercials and campaigns for an A-list of international brands. Greenfield is a two-time President of the Association of Music Producers (AMP) and is a passionate advocate of the power of original music as a branding tool. His views have been published in SHOOT, Boards, Creativity and Mix magazines. He's been a driving force behind the AMP Awards for Music and Sound, which debuted in New York City in 2013. Before embarking on the musical part of his career journey, Greenfield was a copywriter and CD on the ad agency side, beginning at JWT, followed by Saatchi where he supervised the Jeep business. He was also the founder of the first winery in the Hamptons and served as President of the Long Island Wine Council for four years.
Brian Jones Partner | Composer | Music Supervisor
A noisy punk since birth, Brian played virtually any instrument he could get his hands on throughout childhood. After college, he spent several years earning next to nothing touring the US in various iterations of the indie band, Big Mouth. In New York City he joined the famed William Morris Agency, handling touring for many of the world’s biggest artists. After WMA, Jones joined BANG as a composer, producer and music supervisor, creating hundreds of hours of music for television, film and advertising for some of the world’s most recognizable productions and brands. He has been music supervisor for CBS's “Blue Bloods”, Shaka King’s “Newlyweeds,” and several of James Franco's Indie film projects. In 2013 Jones was named President of BANG, overseeing operations while remaining very much involved in composing, supervision and production. Brian has lectured at NYU and served as a speaker and panelist for many music and entertainment industry conferences.
Brad Stratton Partner | Executive Producer | Composer
Brad began his career in the New York advertising and audio post-production scene as Director of Music Production at D'Arcy Advertising. He later worked as an Executive Producer at Fluid and Sound Lounge before joining Bang in 2008. Prior to his career in audio post, Brad was a touring and recording musician based in Prague, Czech Republic. While in Prague, Brad worked as a soundtrack composer for Czech Television, produced recordings for numerous local artists, and was signed to Polygram Records. In addition to being Bang's Executive Producer, Brad is an accomplished composer and songwriter. He recently released an album of original songs under the artist name Bohemian Radio, “On The Air”. You can trust us on this score: both musically and technically, Brad knows what he's doing, and loves taking on the biggest challenges—whether in the studio or on location.
Shelby Comstock Producer | Studio Manager
Shelby Comstock is Kentucky born and bred with an ear for great music and a mind sharpened for business. She studied music business at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, graduating with a BBA and immediately relocated to New York City joining ASCAP as a Creative Services Coordinator. There, she honed her skills producing events and workshops (ASCAP Columbia University Film Scoring Workshop, The ASCAP Centennial Awards, etc.). Shelby’s next move was to Figure and Groove Music Production Library as Head of Marketing and Admin where she successfully secured multiple international publishing deals and placed numerous music syncs on MTV, VH1, Discovery Networks, Vice, etc. She simultaneously took a position as the East Coast representative for The SCL (Society of Composers and Lyricists) coordinating all of their events and seminars. With her unique combination of skills, experience and drive Shelby was recruited by BANG for the position of Producer/Studio Manager.
Timo Elliston Composer
Raised in a musical family, Timo is a classically-trained composer and pianist who studied with his father, Ron Elliston, pianist and Professor of Music at the University of Maryland. He began playing in clubs at age 14 and continues to be a fixture in New York City's jazz scene today. He has toured Southern and Eastern Africa with his own trio, arranged and performed music with the New York City Ballet in NYC and Provence, France, and performed with jazz legends Charles Davis and Valery Ponomarev. In addition to composing scores for dozens of national TV spots (including Nokia, Bank of America, Comcast and Viagra), Elliston has created music for shows on Discovery Channel, VH1, TLC and Fine Living; composed the score for Tribeca Film Festival-winner “The Shovel” (David Strathairn); arranged and performed on-camera music for Tamara Jenkinsʼ The Savages (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laura Linney) and recently completed the score to Jim Breuer's (Saturday Night Live) documentary film, “More Than Me.”
Paul Vītoliņš Senior Engineer
Paul's diverse experience has made him a multi-faceted master of the audio universe. His skill sets range from VO/ADR recording/mixing and dialog editing to sound design and music tracking/mixing. Paul's musical proficiency gives him a discerning ear for his broadcast and film work. He is meticulous in his attention to detail and a believer in creative collaboration with clients. His rapidly expanding credits for scripted and reality TV programing (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “Ink Master” to name a couple) now include shows on NBC, HBO, FX, MTV and TLC. In addition to his post work, Paul is also Audio Producer for Spotify’s original content series, “Spotify Sessions,” recording, mixing and mastering album-ready tracks to be featured exclusively on Spotify’s service. When he’s not busy in the studio, you can find him in the kitchen cooking with his wife (well, the prep work), or playing in one of his many musical projects around Brooklyn.
Nick Cipriano Senior Engineer
Grammy and Emmy Award-winning engineer Nick Cipriano works his audio mysticism in BANG’s Studio A. A West Coast native, Nick graduated from NYU with a degree in Music Technology, and his diverse portfolio showcases his love of all things sonic. He has sound designed and mixed series for PBS, Nickelodeon, Discovery, NatGeo, and MTV. A recent highlight was an Emmy Award for sound editing on “The Electric Company.” Nick also garnered a Grammy in 2005 for recording and mixing on Marlo Thomas' celebrity-studded album, “Thanks and Giving All Year Long.” In advertising, he’s mixed spots for American Express, Cîroc Vodka, Victoria's Secret and received an AICP sound design nomination for Google's first TV spot. Nick’s original compositions can be heard on commercials for Panasonic, Google, Purell, Auto Trader, and New Balance. In his spare time, Nick indulges his passion for loudness playing drums with his original hard rock band, Four Trips Ahead.
Steve Walsh Producer | Composer
American composer, producer, studio musician, and mixer Steve Walsh relocated to Prague in 2012 after years of sharpening his skills in the music meccas of Nashville and New York City. Steve is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and in his travels he’s accumulated a wide range of experience with a diverse array of artists and projects. In addition, Steve tours and records with his own band. His new album, “Daily Specials,” was released in 2012 on the acclaimed Czech label, Animal Music. For the band Erasure Steve produced a #1 song in Denmark and Top 20 in the US. His original songs have appeared on recent releases in the US, Europe and Australia. He’s scored numerous commercials and his music has been featured in film and TV. Steve earned an AICP award and Silver CLIO for music written for Mercedes, and is also recipient of a Czech Andel award.
Viliam Béreš Producer | Composer
Prague-based musician Viliam Béreš is a Czech producer, songwriter and composer. His recordings encompass everything from folk, funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz to classical and electronic music. Viliam studied piano and composition at The Prague Conservatory and has a degree in musicology from Charles University in Prague. He’s performed at musical events worldwide, from London to Shanghai and all places in between. He has collaborated as a producer and arranger with a diverse array of artists from the US, England, Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Czech Republic. With his original music and productions featured in film, theatre, TV and commercials throughout Europe, Viliam has earned his place as one of Prague’s most respected composer-producers.
